They can then purchase the exact gift their loved one wants to receive.

Do I need to know HTML code to install the Drop A Hint?

No, you do not need to know HTML code in order to install Drop A Hint. In fact, on most common e-commerce platforms, including WordPress, our app is easy to install as any other plugin. Some themes templates may require our help to place the Drop A Hint button at your desired location on the product page.

Why do I need to refresh the page seven times?

Our apps use cache to speed up performance. Refreshing seven times clears the browser cache and ensures you're seeing the latest version of your design or changes.

The app doesn't appear in my store. What should I do?

Please make sure the widget is enabled in the app settings. If it still doesn't show, clear cache by refreshing seven times and ensure your theme supports app blocks.

How can I edit the design or margins of my widget?

You can edit the design in the app editor. Once you save, refresh your store page seven times to apply changes.

Where can I edit the Closing Page or Thank You Page?

Go to Shopify Admin → Drop a Hint → Templates, then use the top-right selector to choose Closing Page.

My CTA (Call to Action) button doesn't look right. Can I customize it?

Yes! You can either use our built-in CTA or create your own button with the ID cta_dropahint.

The 'You may also like' section doesn't appear.

Some Shopify themes require manual integration. If that's the case, we can integrate it for you — just contact support.

The SSL certificate or app page shows an error.

Sometimes temporary hosting issues can occur. Please try again or refresh; if the issue continues, contact our support team.

I made changes but they don't show in my store. Why?

Most likely cache is still active — please refresh seven times. If that doesn't fix it, share your storefront password so we can review it safely.

Can I translate my CTA buttons or modal content?

Yes, our apps support multiple languages. You can set translations in the templates section.

Can I track clicks and impressions?

Absolutely. Each app includes an analytics dashboard where you can view clicks, impressions, and conversions.

How the orders are attributed to the app?

There are three ways an order can be attributed to the app:

  • Cookies: We place cookies in the browser of both the sender and receiver of the hint. If either of them makes a purchase, the order is attributed to the app.
  • Name Match: If the first and last name of the customer match a hint sender or receiver.
  • Email Match: If the email of the sender or receiver matches the customer's email (excluding the email domain).
