Drop Hint 2.0 – Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Operated by AppSolute (“we,” “us,” “our”)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the permissible and prohibited uses of the Drop Hint 2.0 application (“the App,” “the Service”).
By installing or using Drop Hint 2.0, you (“Merchant,” “you,” “your”) agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of access to the Service.

Purpose of This Policy

Drop Hint 2.0 enables Shopify merchants to offer product “hint” messages to recipients and to automate follow-up communication using email, SMS, WhatsApp, and other messaging channels.

This AUP ensures the Service is used:

  • Legally
  • Ethically
  • Respectfully
  • Without harm to recipients, customers, or the Shopify ecosystem

Prohibited Uses

Merchants may not use Drop Hint 2.0 for any of the following activities:

3.1 Unlawful or Harmful Activities

You may not use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Engage in fraud, deception, or misleading practices
  • Infringe or misuse intellectual property
  • Facilitate harassment, stalking, abuse, or threats
  • Interfere with or disrupt Shopify or AppSolute systems

3.2 Sending Messages Without Permission

You may not:

  • Use Drop Hint 2.0 to send unsolicited messages
  • Add email/phone numbers without valid consumer consent (as required by law)
  • Use the Service for spam or bulk messaging
  • Misrepresent the purpose of a message or sender identity
Merchants are solely responsible for compliance with:
  • CAN-SPAM
  • CCPA/CPRA
  • TCPA
  • GDPR
  • WhatsApp platform rules
  • Any regional communication laws applicable to email/SMS/MMS/WhatsApp

3.3 Sensitive, High-Risk, or Prohibited Content

The Service may not be used to send, promote, or link to:

  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
  • Weapons, explosives, or ammunition
  • Adult content, pornography, or sexually explicit material
  • Hate speech or extremist content
  • Gambling services
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Products that infringe third-party trademarks or patents
  • Medical, pharmaceutical, or health devices making unproven claims
  • Financial scams or deceptive offers

3.4 Disallowed Business Models

Drop Hint 2.0 cannot be used by merchants operating:

  • “Get rich quick,” pyramid, or MLM schemes
  • Loan, financial recovery, debt consolidation, or credit repair programs
  • Cryptocurrency trading platforms that violate local regulation
  • Stores targeting children under 13 with hint functionality
If your store is in a restricted industry, AppSolute may suspend usage.

3.5 Abuse of Automated Follow-Ups

You may not:

  • Misuse follow-up messages to harass or annoy recipients
  • Repurpose follow-up automation in ways unintended by the App
  • Exploit follow-ups for mass marketing or spam-like behavior
  • Attempt to trick or coerce recipients into purchases
Automated follow-ups must be related only to previously sent hints and legitimate product interest.

System Misuse

You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
  • Access the App through unauthorized methods
  • Use bots, scripts, or automation to create fake hints, clicks, or conversions
  • Attempt to bypass billing, quotas, or usage limits
  • Interfere with AppSolute’s servers, APIs, or infrastructure
Detected abuse may lead to:
  • Suspension
  • Removal from Shopify
  • Legal action
  • Forfeiture of account and data access

Merchant Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Maintain accurate product and business information
  • Provide proper customer consent disclosures on your website
  • Use the Drop Hint button, forms, and messaging tools ethically
  • Install and configure the App correctly in your Shopify theme
  • Monitor all message activity for compliance
  • Uninstall the App if you do not wish follow-ups or usage charges to continue
You acknowledge Drop Hint 2.0 cannot determine whether the Hint button is displayed on your store.

Enforcement

We may take any of the following actions at our discretion:

  • Issue warnings
  • Limit specific App features
  • Suspend messaging functionality
  • Suspend or terminate access to the Service
  • Report violations to Shopify
  • Permanently remove access in cases of severe abuse
We will make reasonable efforts to notify merchants prior to enforcement when possible.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time.
The Last Updated date reflects the latest revision.

Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of changes.
