Overview

Drop Hint 2.0 uses a hybrid billing model consisting of:

A monthly subscription fee based on the selected plan.

Usage-based charges, including:

  • Hints sent above the monthly plan threshold
  • Orders generated through Drop Hint
  • Automated follow-up messages triggered by user behavior
This policy explains how billing works and when refunds may or may not be issued.

Subscription Billing

2.1 Monthly Plans

Merchants may select from one of the following plans:

  • Starting Free Plan: $0/month, 10 hints included; $0.95 per extra hint; $0.70/order
  • Starter Plan: $35/month, 30 hints included; $0.85 per extra hint; $0.50/order
  • Pro Plan: $150/month, 180 hints included; $0.70 per extra hint; $0.40/order
  • Enterprise Plan: $699/month; 900 hints included; $0.50 per extra hint; $0.25/order
Subscription fees are billed by Shopify and are non-refundable once the billing cycle begins.

Usage-Based Billing

3.1 Hint Usage

Each sent hint counts toward the monthly allowance included in your plan.

Hints sent above the plan threshold incur per-hint usage fees as listed above.

3.2 Automated Follow-Ups

Drop Hint 2.0 includes behavior-triggered, automated follow-ups sent via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or postcard.

These are charged at approximately 50% of the full hint price, depending on the active plan.

⚠️ Important:

  • Automated follow-ups may occur days, weeks, or months after an original hint is sent.
  • Follow-ups continue even if the Drop Hint button is later removed from product pages, unless the app is fully uninstalled from the Shopify store.
  • This system ensures visitors who already interacted with Drop Hint continue receiving the communication flow they initiated.

Removal of the Drop Hint Button vs. App Uninstallation

4.1 Button Removal

Removing the Drop Hint button from product pages does not:

  • Pause or cancel your subscription
  • Stop automated follow-ups
  • Stop usage-based billing
Drop Hint 2.0 cannot detect or monitor whether the button is displayed on the storefront. The merchant is solely responsible for removing or modifying frontend integrations.

4.2 App Uninstallation

The only action that stops all billing—subscription fees and all usage charges—is uninstalling the app from Shopify.

Upon uninstallation:

  • No new hints or follow-ups can be generated.
  • Shopify immediately stops all future billing.
  • Residual follow-up charges may still appear for the billing period during which the app was active, if follow-ups were triggered before the uninstall.

Refund Policy

5.1 Non-Refundable Fees

The following are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances:

  • Monthly subscription fees already billed
  • Usage charges for hints sent
  • Usage charges for orders generated
  • Usage charges for automated follow-ups
  • Charges incurred while the app remained installed, regardless of:
    • Whether the Drop Hint button was displayed
    • Theme changes
    • Customizations
    • Setup or configuration choices made by the merchant
    • Staff oversight or accidental removal of the CTA

5.2 No Refunds for Automated Follow-Ups

Refunds cannot be issued for automated follow-ups triggered from historical hint activity, even if the Drop Hint button is removed from the storefront before follow-ups are delivered.

If the app is installed, follow-ups will continue to run by design.

5.3 Eligibility for Credits

Credits may be issued at AppSolute's discretion in the event of:

  • A verified technical malfunction of Drop Hint 2.0 resulting in unintended charges
  • A platform-wide system outage
Credits will not be issued for:
  • User configuration errors
  • Removal of the Drop Hint button while the app remains installed
  • Failure to disable or uninstall the app

Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for:

  • Managing their theme and ensuring app components are installed/removed correctly
  • Monitoring hint activity and related usage charges in their Shopify Billing section
  • Uninstalling the app if they wish to stop all billing
  • Understanding that automated follow-ups are based on prior user activity and may trigger over time
