Overview of Drop Hint 2.0
Drop Hint 2.0 is a native Shopify product-page integration that enables online visitors to send gift hints to third parties. The app includes automated follow-up functionality and usage-based billing features. The Service is offered exclusively through the Shopify App Store and operates in accordance with Shopify's billing and platform policies.
Eligibility
To use the Service, you must:
- Have a valid Shopify merchant account
- Be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
- Have the authority to enter into binding agreements on behalf of your business
Account & App Installation
When you install Drop Hint 2.0, you authorize Shopify to share necessary store information with us to enable the Service. You are responsible for:
- Proper installation and configuration
- Ensuring the Drop Hint button is placed or removed as desired
- Choosing and managing your subscription plan
- Monitoring all usage charges
Removing the Drop Hint button from your theme does not uninstall the app or stop billing. The only way to stop subscription and usage charges is to uninstall the app from Shopify.
Features & Functionality
4.1 Hint Sending
Visitors may send hints through the Service via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or postcard. Sent hints count toward your plan's monthly quota.
4.2 Automated Follow-Ups
Drop Hint 2.0 includes optional automated follow-ups triggered by:
- Non-opened hint messages
- Opened hints without click-through
- Click-through onto product pages without purchase
- Other behavior-based triggers and time triggers
Automated follow-ups may be sent days, weeks, or months after the original hint is delivered.
Automated follow-ups continue as long as the app remains installed, even if the Drop Hint button is removed from storefront pages.
4.3 Usage Tracking
The Service may track:
- Hint delivery
- Follow-up triggers
- Click actions
- Conversions/orders attributed to Drop Hint
This tracking is necessary for app functionality and billing.
Subscription Plans & Billing
5.1 Subscription Fees
You agree to pay the monthly subscription fees associated with your selected plan. All fees are billed through Shopify and are displayed in your Shopify Billing section.
Subscription fees are non-refundable, consistent with Shopify's billing terms.
5.2 Usage Fees
In addition to subscription fees, usage charges apply, including:
- Hints sent above plan thresholds
- Automated follow-up messages
- Orders generated through Drop Hint
Usage charges vary by plan and are automatically billed by Shopify.
5.3 Automated Follow-Up Charges
Because follow-ups may trigger long after initial hint activity, you may incur usage charges even if:
- The Drop Hint button is removed from your storefront
- Your theme is modified
- Staff or developers change your site layout
- You temporarily disable display elements
These charges continue until the app is uninstalled.
5.4 Billing Disputes
All billing disputes must be submitted to [email protected] within 30 days of the charge.
Refund Policy
Please refer to our Refund & Billing Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Key points include:
- Subscription fees are non-refundable
- Usage fees are non-refundable
- No refunds for automated follow-up messages
